    »European Meeting on Game Theory - SING 14« held at the University of Bayreuth on 16-18 July 2018.

    The 14th European (formerly Spain-Italy-Netherlands) Meeting on Game Theory (SING14) is organised by the Professorship of Economics IG of the University of Bayreuth and will be the first one held in Germany. As usual for the SlNG conference also the SING14 conference program will consist of small number invited lectures by highly distinguished scholars in the field and a larger number contributed papers, which are selected among all applications by a scientific committee of established researchers in the field to ensure a high scientific standard of the papers presented at the conference. However, also contributions from PhD students and researchers being at the beginning of their career are explicitly invited and a Best Paper Prize is awarded. Even SING is the European Meeting on Game Theory, participants from all over the world attend the conference on a regular basis.     Lecture Series »Ethics & Globalization«.

    The Professorship for International Governance would like to invite you to attend this semester's lecture series 'Ethics & Globalization'. It is organized in cooperation with the working group 'Plural Economics', the Department of Economics, and the Department of Philosophy.

    In our interdisciplinary lecture series 'Ethics & Globalization' the probing questions of globalization shall be examined in analytic depth and evaluated ethically. Therefore, the Working Group 'Plural Economics' invited a series of well-known speakers. The speakers will give interesting insights about various sections of globalization and speak about a number of important aspects within the big range of this topic.

    Prof. Steffen awarded with grant for research.

    Prof. Steffen together with Dr. Mostapha Diss (Jean Monnet University, Saint Etienne), und Prof. Abdallah Zouache (Sciences Po Lille) has received a grant from the Bayrisch-Französisches Hochschulzentrum (BFHZ) for their joint work on the Power in the Lebanese Parliament.

    Lecture Series »Wealth & Justice«.

    The Professorship for International Governance would like to invite you to attend this semester's lecture series »Wealth & Justice«. It is organised in cooperation with vub. e.V. Bayreuth and the Department of Philosophy.

    The idea of this lecture series is to have a fresh look at the welfare state and the role it plays in creating wealth and justice. The series of lectures will cover topics in economic history, social policy, globalization, and distributive justice and to show how the welfare state is not something that is antagonistic to economic growth and development but very much part of it.

    We are very happy to announce that Prof. Dr. Ariel Rubinstein from Tel Aviv University & New York University will be giving a talk, titled »A Typology of Players: Between Instinctive and Contemplative« on Mon., 20 April, 17-19h s.t. in H25, RW I. Professor Rubinstein is a worldwide renowned economist focusing on topics in Economic Theory, Game Theory and Bounded Rationality.

    This joint talk is organised by the Department of Economics and the Department of Philosophy. All those interested are very welcome to attend what promises to be a highly interesting talk.
